Purohit AI is operated by Saths Services LLC, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and owned by Sri Shyam Sharma.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide you with astrological services:
- Name: To personalize your experience
- Birth Details (Jatakam): Name (optional), date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth — required only when you ask for personal chart readings, dasha, or timing questions. May also be saved as a "saved chart" on your account so you can switch between family members.
- Location Data: Your current location (if provided) to determine local festival dates and auspicious timings
- Chat History: Your questions and the AI priest's replies, stored so you can continue a conversation and review past guidance. Signed-in users' chats are linked to your account; guest chats may be linked to a browser fingerprint until you sign in or request deletion.
- Account & Identity: Email, phone number (when verified), sign-in method, and device fingerprint used to prevent abuse and link your account across web and WhatsApp
- Credit Wallet & Purchases: Your astrology credit balance, welcome-credit grant status, premium subscription status, and records of credit-pack or subscription purchases (amount and date — not full card numbers)
- Usage Data: Anonymous analytics and credit-usage logs (e.g., which types of questions use credits) to operate quotas and improve the Service
3. How We Use Your Information
- Astrological calculations: Your birth date, time, and place are used by our Vedic chart engine to compute lagna, planetary positions, dasha periods, yogas, and divisional charts (jatakam).
- Personalized readings: When you ask jatakam, marriage timing, career, or dasha questions, relevant birth details and chart summaries may be included in the prompt sent to our AI providers so the priest can answer in context.
- Saved charts: If you save birth profiles (e.g., for family members), we store them in your account so you can switch charts without re-entering details.
- Chat continuity: Messages and optional birth details attached to a chat session are stored so you can resume conversations and see history on web or WhatsApp (same verified phone).
- Location-specific calendar: Your current or chosen location (separate from birth place) is used for local panchangam, festival dates, and muhurta — not for advertising.
- Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns may be used to improve accuracy and reliability. We do not use your birth details or private chats to train public AI models for unrelated purposes.
- Communication & support: Respond to your inquiries and help with account or billing issues.
- Billing & credits: Process payments, maintain your credit wallet, apply welcome credits, enforce fair-use limits, and deliver purchased credit packs or subscriptions.
We do NOT use your birth details or chat content for third-party advertising, selling data brokers, or unrelated marketing.
4. Birth Details — What Happens to Your Data
Birth details are sensitive personal information. We collect them only when you choose to use jatakam or related features, or when you explicitly save a chart profile.
What we collect
- Date, time, and place of birth (and optional name / label for saved charts)
- Computed chart data derived from those inputs (planetary positions, dasha tables, etc.)
What we do with it
- Run Vedic astrology calculations on our servers to produce your birth chart and related analyses
- Store saved charts in your Supabase account (
saved_charts) when you are signed in - Attach birth details to a chat session when provided, so follow-up questions stay accurate
- Send necessary context (birth facts and chart summaries, not your full account record) to AI providers only when an AI-generated answer is required for your question
What we do not do
- Sell or rent birth details to advertisers or data brokers
- Publish your birth information publicly
- Require birth details for free festival, panchangam, or sankalpam lookups
Browser storage
For convenience, the web app may temporarily store birth details in your browser's local storageon your device so you do not have to re-enter them each visit. You can clear this by clearing site data in your browser. Signed-in users' authoritative copy is stored on our servers.
5. Chat Conversations — How We Store and Secure Them
Your chats are stored so the AI priest can remember context within and across sessions (when you are signed in or use the same verified phone on WhatsApp).
Where chats are stored
- Supabase (PostgreSQL): Chat sessions, message history, titles, and linked birth details are stored in our
chats table, hosted in Supabase's secure cloud infrastructure - Your device: Recent messages may be cached locally in your browser for faster loading
Security measures
- Encryption in transit: All communication between your browser and purohitai.com uses HTTPS (TLS)
- Encryption at rest: Data in Supabase is encrypted at rest on provider infrastructure
- Authentication: Signed-in users access account-linked data through Supabase Auth (secure tokens). Backend APIs verify your identity before returning saved charts or account data
- Access controls: Saved birth charts use database row-level security policies so users can only access their own records. Chat writes go through our backend service, not direct public access to other users' sessions
- Isolation: Your chat history is not visible to other users. Our team accesses stored data only when necessary for support, security, or legal compliance
AI processing of chat content
When you ask a question that requires AI interpretation, your message (and relevant birth or chart context) is sent to our AI service providers — currently including Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and xAI Grok — solely to generate a response. These providers process data under their own API terms and privacy policies. We select providers that do not use API customer data to train their public models (per provider API/data policies at time of use).
Free calendar answers (festivals, panchangam, sankalpam dates) are computed by our own engine when possible and may not send your full chat history to an AI provider.
Retention and deletion
We retain chat history and birth details while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated chats and saved charts by contacting us at info@ushindurituals.com. We will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable time, subject to legal retention requirements.
6. General Data Storage and Security
Supabase: Primary database for profiles, chats, saved charts, credit wallets, and usage logs. Hosted with industry-standard physical and logical security controls.
Google Cloud Run: Our backend API runs on Google Cloud with restricted access to production secrets and database credentials.
While we use reasonable safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your account and do not share your login credentials.
7. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
We may share data only in limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Supabase (database & auth), Stripe (payments), Google Cloud (hosting), Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude & xAI Grok (AI answers — receive question and relevant context only when needed)
- Analytics: Google Analytics or similar tools (anonymized data)
- Legal Compliance: If required by law
8. Payments, Credits, and Subscriptions
When you buy a credit pack or subscribe to PurohitAI Unlimited, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit-card or bank-account numbers on our servers. Stripe may collect billing name, email, payment method details, and transaction metadata according to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We store your credit wallet balance, premium status, purchase history (for support and fraud prevention), and usage records needed to deduct credits for astrology questions. Festival, panchangam, tithi, gocharam position, and sankalpam date lookups are free and are not billed against your wallet.
